“Tianshan Wenqu”, a large-scale original song and dance drama, was staged at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre in SIP on the evening of Oct 15, offering the audiences a cultural feast rich in historical depth and artistry.
The performance, which is on its national tour, is designed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in northwest China. It set a cultural bridge between Suzhou and Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture where the performers come from.
Presented by an 80-member professional cast, the show ingeniously integrates singing, dancing, drama and multimedia art, vividly portraying Ili’s stunning landscapes and profound cultural heritage. Through nuanced emotional expression, it intertwines grand historical scenes with individual spiritual growth.
