In mid-December, STIHL, a world-leading manufacturer of garden machinery and power tools, signed an agreement with SIP to establish its global electric machinery R&D center in the industrial park. The center will focus on automated robotic mowers and new energy tools.
This strategic move marks a crucial step for STIHL in expanding its innovation footprint in China and will infuse strong momentum into SIP’s high-end manufacturing sector.

Founded in 1926 and headquartered in Waiblingen, Germany, STIHL operates in over 160 countries and regions, with around 20,000 employees globally.

The new R&D center aims to overcome challenges such as precise positioning, smart decision-making and obstacle avoidance in complex garden environments by virtue of AI and other advanced technologies. It is scheduled to come into operation in the second quarter of 2026.
