The newlyweds who made their marriage registration at the offices at Suhongxi Road and near the Sino-French Wall of Love in Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block in SIP on Aug 29 enjoyed a special celebration by participating in the activities elaborately designed to mark the Qixi Festival (also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day) that fell on the day.
SIP recorded a registration of 119 couples on the festival, a year-on-year increase of 38%, reaching a new high over the past 11 years.
At the marriage registration office at Suhongxi Road, young couples had the chance to make a sachet for their spouse as a token of love. They could also write down their wishes on paper, seal it with a special stamp and put it in a customized photo frame.
At the Sino-French Wall of Love, the newly registered couples could make rose-shaped collages together, and consult the experts on secrets for a happy and successful marriage.
