The new campus of The High School Affiliated to Soochow University at Shengpu Road welcomed its first students this month. Now, 700 freshmen are attending the military training which is designed to improve their discipline and their knowledge of national defense and security.
With a land area of about 130 mu (8.67 hectares) and a floor area of 128,000 square meters, the new campus cost about RMB700 million. It houses 60 classes with 3,000 seats.
The new campus, equipped with advanced facilities, has effectively addressed the space constraints of The High School Affiliated to Soochow University, a school founded in 1996 under the cooperation between SIP Administrative Committee and Soochow University.
“We will soon start the building of several advanced labs focused on AI, nano materials and biology for individualized science studies, and provide unique courses to cultivate versatile, innovative talents,” the school said.
It is worth mentioning that this campus has employed a series of intelligent solutions for safety and security guarantee, convenient student drop-off and pick-up and interesting education.
