In the morning, sunlight streams through the glass windows of the spacious activity room of the newly opened day care center in Gexiang Community, Weiting Sub-district, SIP, filling it with a warm glow. Amidst the fragrance of tea, a dozen elderly residents sit leisurely in a circle, embracing another day of cozy community life.

“The meal service is what I expect the most. Cooking alone can be quite a hassle, and now I only have to walk minutes to enjoy a warm and delicious meal,” said Zhang, a resident of the community.
The person in charge of the center explained that, to fulfill the needs of the large elderly population in the surrounding communities, the center has particularly strengthened the integration of healthcare and social activities, with a health corner, traditional Chinese medicine therapy room, reading room and audio-visual room available.
The center represents one of SIP’s latest efforts to refine its 15-minute elderly service circles, which are designed to make integrated services easily available for older residents. So far, SIP has set up 85 day care centers and five comprehensive elderly service centers which form an elderly service network covering the entire area.

In the day care center in Gexiang Community, what stands out beyond its advanced facilities is the constant care and neighborliness. The center often hosts diverse events such as health lectures, DIY activities, art performances and group birthday celebrations to ensure seniors lead fulfilling and joyful lives.
