The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China recently announced the 2025 list of 5G factories. AU Optronics (Suzhou) Corporation, a company in Jinji Lake CBD, is one of the two SIP-based companies on the list.
AU Optronics (Suzhou) Corporation was founded in 2001 by Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer AU Optronics (AUO). It specializes in the R&D and production of high-value-added products in the liquid crystal display panel field. Its product portfolio covers a full range of items, including TVs, desktop computers, notebooks, gaming monitors, mobile phone screens and wearable displays. The company is also actively exploring applications in intelligent manufacturing, intelligent healthcare, intelligent retail and other sectors.
The company launched strategic cooperation with the Suzhou branch of Chinese telecom giant China Unicom in 2020 to develop a 5G factory, and has realized full 5G coverage across its operation flow. It has implemented large-scale 5G application in various scenarios, such as 5G-enabled digital twin solutions, smart logistics, AR remote collaboration and equipment fault diagnosis, setting a replicable example for building factories fully connected with 5G network.
