The 2025 AI Expo kicked off at the Suzhou International Expo Centre in SIP on July 28. Wang Jiangping, former vice minister of industry and information technology, Gao Wen, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the council of A New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and Wu Qingwen, deputy secretary of the CPC Suzhou Committee and mayor of Suzhou, attended the opening ceremony.
Gao believed that the AI Expo would continue to serve as a vital hub for collaborative innovation within the global AI sector, fostering an open, inclusive and equitable AI development ecosystem. He hoped to work with global partners to deepen technical exchanges, promote industrial integration, and improve ethical governance, advancing AI technology in a safe, reliable and controllable manner for the benefit of humanity.
Wu hoped the event would fully showcase Suzhou’s achievements in developing AI, and the city’s determination and aspiration to attract more high-tech and innovative businesses and high-caliber talents that could help accelerate AI development in a more efficient and robust and safer way.
Wang delivered a speech titled “The Urgency and Pathway for Removing the Barriers in Scientific Discovery for AI Development”.
Several reports on AI were released on site, and a number of AI projects run by leading sci-tech talents were introduced. Besides, the award ceremonies of the 3rd Artificial Intelligence Product Application Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the 2nd ZuChongzhi Award ― Award for Cutting-edge AI Innovation program were held.
First held in 2018, the AI Expo has been held in Suzhou for six consecutive years. It has become a trend indicator for AI innovation, achievement exhibition and application. This year’s event comprised a series of exchange activities, new product launches and supply-demand matching activities that attracted a host of big names from related areas.
