With the approach of the 2024 Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race, which is scheduled in SIP this weekend, the participating dragon boat teams are stepping up training on the Xietang River in SIP. The CSSD dragon boat team is one of them.
The racers all come from China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group Co Ltd (CSSD), a Sino-Singaporean joint venture which has participated in the development of SIP since its inception.
“It is lucky to partake in the Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race in the year that marks the 30th anniversary of SIP’s inception and also the 30th anniversary of the founding of CSSD,” said He Yuncheng, a senior manager at the group.
The CSSD dragon boat team which consists of members from both China and Singapore was established in April. Since then, the team members have attended training two or three times each week. They are now itching to show their skills in the competition.
